Rent-to-Own Housing Scheme
Rent-to-Own Housing Scheme
Home ownership in England has fallen to its lowest level for 30 years, while the number of people privately renting is now higher than in the early 1960s, according to official figures. The country is in the grip of a housing shortage and soaring rents, poor conditions and rising homelessness are the end result.

The lack of appropriate affordable housing negatively impacts the local community in many ways. For example, living in rented accommodation offers less security and stability since the landlord can request possession of the property at any time.
As a tenant you would have no choice but to find alternative accommodation, which if you are a single parent or a family, might not be so easy.

The RTO Housing Scheme is being proposed to allow anyone who wishes to do so, the opportunity to purchase their own home, improve their financial situation and enjoy greater stability and security within their local community
